Authorized Economic Operator
AEO stands for Approved Economic Operator. It is a standard term assigned by the World Customs Organization for supply chain security programs. AEO programs are structured within the WCO SAFE Framework of Standards to Secure and Facilitate Global Trade. The AEO program has been developing steadily since it’s inception and now includes the following:
- 74 countries with operational AEO security programs
- 16 additional country AEO programs in development
- 40,000 + AEO certified companies
- 86 MRA agreements signed or in process
