MRA – Mutual Recognition Arrangements – are formal, written understandings between the Customs Administrations of two or more countries. The essential concept of Mutual Recognition is that each country involved in the understanding, agree to recognize and accept the standards of each other’s supply chain security program.
MRA is gaining momentum and expanding rapidly. The following charts from the World Customs Organization illustrate how widely accepted these programs have become. As of today there are:

- 42 new MRA being negotiated
